Ibanez AK95 Review: The Magic Maker

Any Ibanez ak95 review is going to rave about the overall look of this sonic seductress, and, for very good reasons. The dark, violin sunburst finish, with matching colored pick guard, will make any guitar-slinger want to hold this guitar, or run his fingers along the bound rosewood fingerboard. Even propped in the corner of the guitar player's house, or, studio, this guitar is sheer eye candy. She boasts nice, large, frets - twenty-two of them, and two Humbucker pickups, one on the neck, and the other on the bridge. This gives the guitar a satisfying, and soulful sound. The Ibanez ak95 also sports a flamed maple back, as well as sides. The hardware is all gold, and the fret inlays are abalone blocks.

This guitar may look like the cool side of midnight, but its sound cooks on a hot-burning flame. Even when you strum a clean and open G, you can still hear the potential of the down and dirty roadhouse boogie this guitar can kick up. If you want to change gears, or toggles, you know that Ibanez guitars can do that, too. Maybe you have never passed by an underground jazz club on the backstreets of Paris at four in the morning, but, simply close your eyes, play a few licks, and you will be swept away. You may even see the lights of the Eiffel Tower reflecting upon the Seine.

Of course, you want to be able to depend upon your ax, and with the Ibanez ak 95, because it is an Ibanez, you can. Going out and playing gigs with an Ibanez, is the same as performing with a safety net. This guitar is going to stay in tune for as long as you do, and probably even longer. It is not going to emit sounds that you do not want it to. In fact, it is probably more dependable than your drummer. It is built with the typical, solid craftsmanship of an Ibanez, and, of course, it is backed by the full Ibanez warranty.

My first electric guitar experience was with an Ibanez Brass Beauty. Since then, I have played everything from Gibson, to Fender, to Martin, and I have loved them all. However, I will always remain an immense fan of Ibanez. Their look and feel, to this day, remains a magical thing to me. This Ibanez ak95 guitar is an indication that while kingdoms come and go, some magic will never die.
