Ibanez Bass Guitar Reviews

I decided it would be fitting to do some Ibanez bass guitar reviews since I recently picked up a GSR200 a couple of months ago to mess around with. When one thinks Ibanez bass guitars they think quality and tone at really great prices.

First of all, if you’re a beginner bass player you should consider an Ibanez bass guitar package. Usually this would consist of the bass, an amp, an electronic tuner, a gig bag and most likely an instructional DVD. You can really save some cash doing it this way. A great entry level bass is the Ibanez sr300 featuring a great price and excellent hardware/craftsmanship.

I played a few models when I bought mine and one Ibanez 4 string bass guitar that I liked was an ARTB100. Classic looking LP style with a classic tone and feel. It has a smaller scale neck that is perfect for players with smaller hands. I’ve got big hands but I still was able to maneuver the frets cleanly with no problems. It comes with a Gibraltar 3 bridge, which is my all-time favorite Ibanez guitars bridge. The humbucking pickups had a warm tone that is great for classic rock and southern blues. The low end on this bass is huge. This is definitely another great Ibanez bass guitar.

The SRT series of Ibanez 5 string bass guitar is based on a neck-thru design that has a long lasting sustain. Identical pickups sit in the neck and bridge positions. Both EMG -40dc’s, which are well known for their range of beautiful clean highs and lows that are growly and anything but clean. I tried this one out at my local Ibanez bass guitar dealer and I was very impressed at how it felt in my hands and the different range of tones I could achieve. The body is solid mahogany with a maple cap and is a very standard combo. The neck is constructed of bubinga (sorry, I hadn’t heard of this wood before) and maple with a common rosewood fretboard. Overall I was pretty happy with this electric bass guitar and I would definitely consider buying one.

For the price, the Ibanez gsr200 bass guitar is the best one that I’ve played and that’s why I bought one. I chose the pearl white model; it matches my car . The guitar is light and fits perfectly into my style of playing. The single coil bridge pickup gives it an old school bass sound and you still have a humbucker in the neck position. Where the money savings come from is the body wood. Agathis (hadn’t heard of that one either) to be exact. The tone is still fantastic though. Maple neck with simple pearl dot inlays. Not fancy but I still know where the frets are ;-) .

I would choose another Ibanez bass guitar in the future based on my current experience of them. Frankly, I am quite impressed with all their guitar instruments.
