Schecter Hellraiser Solo 6 String Guitar

I've always been a big fan of the LP body style of guitar and that’s what first drew me to the Schecter Hellraiser Solo 6 electric guitar. There are many guitar makers out there that make have this body style in their lineup but I’ve always admired Schecter’s fantastic quality and tone of their guitars.

The Schecter Hellraiser is a series that is pointed more towards loud, distorted music…which is right up my alley. There are four different body styles of the Hellraiser but the Solo is by far my favorite of the bunch. My Schecter Hellraiser Solo 6 review really is based over the course of a year since I first bought the guitar.

Great Tone
The tone of this guitar is nothing short of blazing. What I mean by that is you can hit some extreme distortion with the powered pickups that come stock on the guitar. EMG really makes a fantastic pickup and I wouldn’t use anything else for the style of music that I play. The neck position is dark and clear and the bridge hits some decent midrange to higher crunchy tones. The string-through design on the Solo 6 adds to the long resonation too.

Beautiful Styling
The body style, although based on the LP, is somewhat unique with its slightly asymmetrical shape. The mahogany body is a solid choice grade and there is also an option to get the quilted maple version, which is an added slice to the top of the guitar. If you like a little added brightness to your tone than the latter model may be a good choice. You get three choice of color: black cherry, gloss black and gloss white. I chose the white model for its glimmering contrast against the dark neck and hardware and abalone binding.

Fast Playing
If you’re style is very fast then the slim neck on the Schecter Hellraiser Solo 6 will definitely please you. A couple of other guitar makers out there have similarly fast necks but I’ll give the edge to the Schecter. The cutout design gives perfect access to the entire neck as well, which is important for soloing.

Great Reliability
Mine has been with me for a year with no problems at all. Schecter guitars have a great reputation for top quality in their handmade guitar instruments and mine is no exception. The neck has stayed in perfect bow and the locking tuners really add to the reliability of my live playing. The finish has held up well and only shows slight surface wear from many hours of playing.

I recommend the Hellraiser Solo 6 to pretty much anyone who will listen, as it’s been my favorite guitar I’ve owned to date. Check them out!
